The
Shoolmistress :
An Historical Romance Novel
In 1897
Anne Marie Laforge rebels against her doting and domineering
French-born father and impulsively accepts a teaching position
in a one-room schoolhouse in upper Appalachia. She encounters
Ned Pennant, an elective mute trapper-poacher. First repulsed
by this near-illiterate, then intrigued, she challenges herself
to make him speak again. They will fall in love but their romance
is short lived when Ned is accused of murder. Will Anne Marie
be dismissed from her teaching position for having consorted
with an alleged criminal? International events, matrimonial
proposals, travels and personal crisis shape her and Ned’s
destinies.

is Professor
and Chair of the Anthropology Department at Bloomsburg Universtiy,
Bloomsburg, PA.
Ever since she moved to Bloomsburg she has been excited to wander
the annual fair grounds and participate in fair activities.
One of her service and research projects for the local community
led Dr. Dauria to collaborate with the Bloomsburg Fair Association
to produce annual demographic reports showing fairgoer activity.
Her university students collect data and assist in investigating
the impact of the fair, while learning valuable lessons about
culture.
Realizing that data collection can only represent a small portion
of the Bloomsburg Fair phenomenon, she wished to create a more
expansive understanding by collecting information about personal
and community experiences through personal interviews.
Dr. Dauria may continue with additional volumes as interesting
interviewees are discovered.
The
Adventures of Elbert and Leopoldina
A delightful children's story about
an energetic goose and beagle, friends who accidentally stroll
100 years into the past on a spring day. The animals are beautifully
depicted with realistic mannerisms and devotion to each other.
The story contains concepts about our past, honesty, devotion,
and sincere concern for others - both in the human and animal
realm. A great gift for children.

Life
After Work:
Six retirement stories that can change your life
Retirement
stories of six famous people: Sarah and Bessie Delany, Lee
Iacocca, Katharine Hepburn, Jimmy Carter, and Arthur Ashe
. . . and the messages they have for the rest of us: How
is retirement different today because of the dramatic increases
in life expectancy and profound changes about what it means
to be retired? • How can we plan for retirement
in a world of uncertainty and rapid change? • What
is the role of health in retirement, and what can we do if
health fails? • If retirement is a transition
to the "second half" of adult life, how can we
make this new staes of our lives productive and satisfying?

A
Midwestern Life, A Memoir
Spencer Ketchum wrote and compiled this book
as a gift for his family and friends. He gathered information
from his fathers and his own writing, and worked back to the
immigration of the Ketchom family to the United States. "Spence" writes
in a cordial, detailed style that makes the reading easy and
interesting. He intersperces history with humor.
Mr. Ketchum lives in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and has
worked most of his life in public relations. He relates stories
from his childhood and through the Second World War, to today.
This
was a complex project as it is considered short run (not a large
quantity), color and black ink pages mixed, and a hard case binding.
By contracting with three different companies we managed to get
everything he wanted. He sent books out for Christmas, and he
is still getting rave reviews from family and friends.

Dr.
Dale L. Bluman
Is a Professor of Commuinication at Shippensburg
University in Pennsylvania. He also shares his expertise in
communications with businesses requesting intercommunication
help, and also works with an expert witness making video presentations
for the courtroom. Dale writes in a friendly, informative manner
which (we feel) makes his course much more interesting. Since
Dr. Bluman has custom-published his own textbook, he sees more
profit per book sold that he would through a commercial publishing
house. And since he is only interested in using the book for
his own course, not marketing it for others to use teaching,
his needs are only for short-run quantities. Testimonial: "You

helped me make good decisions. I was comforted

competent hands." Contact

. . . is a work of the imagination; it is also,
to some extent, autobiographical. Grosso writes:
"To write about the American Indian . . .
to get inside him, to feel a sense of him, I have looked into my
self, that is, I have groped around looking into my own mystery.
And looking into myself, I have discovered that, despite the thin
garment of culture that makes us appear different from one another,
we are all found in each other."
